Endometriosis Treatment in Birmingham

The condition of endometriosis occurs when the tissue lining of the uterus (endometrial cells) grows outside of the uterus and overtakes healthy tissue. A painful or dysfunctional pelvis can result from this condition. There is no cure for endometriosis, but there are several treatment options.

To determine if you have endometriosis and to find out the best treatment plan for you, it is important to seek an endometriosis specialist’s help if you experience symptoms. Medications, surgeries, and lifestyle changes may all be options for treatment. Consult a physician from the Endometriosis Center of America to determine the best method. Women’s health is always our top priority.

What is Pelvic Pain?

The term pelvic pain refers to pain located in the lower abdomen and/or your reproductive organs. There are two types of pelvic pain: acute and chronic. The term chronic pelvic pain refers to pain that persists for more than six months and does not respond to various treatments.
In addition to mild discomfort during or around your menstrual cycle, you should not be experiencing any abdominal or reproductive organ pain.
In many cases, pelvic pain is caused by endometriosis. It is important to note, however, that there are many other conditions that could be causing your discomfort. Finding the cause of the problem is essential to reducing or eliminating it. Leaving it unaddressed can lead to more serious problems.

It is possible for physicians to treat suspected endometriosis based on symptoms or physical examination findings without performing surgery. In order to formally diagnose endometriosis, a doctor must perform a laparoscopy and pelvic exam to visualize and biopsy suspected lesions.

The symptoms of endometriosis are often similar to those of other pelvic pain problems. Please contact your doctor if you are having any kind of pelvic pain right away, and we can create custom treatment options for you!
